Cam Smith, Head Coach -

Cam is the head coach for Brighton Ski Team, and oversees all of the coaching for the team. He is one of the main reasons that the team is where it is today. Once you meet him, it is obvious how much he loves ski racing and how much he loves watching the racers on the team fulfill their potential as athletes and skiers. He is, however, an insufferable Chicago Bears fan. When he starts taking about how the Bears are going to the Super Bowl this year, it's best to just nod, smile politely and walk away.
Chris Henderson, South Series/J4 Team Coach -

Chris, a native Utahn, has been involved with the Brighton Ski Team as long as anyone can remember, first as a junior and JO racer, then as a coach. He has experience as a ski instructor for the Brighton Ski School and as a USSA certified coach for the Team. He coaches our Devo team, and is infamous for his disdain for chairlifts (much to the dismay of his racers), and for his land speed records going up and down Big Cottonwood Canyon in his Subaru Impreza. Oh, and for making his racers do J-turns until their legs go numb.
Drew Southworth, IMD/J3 Team Coach -

Drew originally hails from the Northeast Kingdom, otherwise known as Vermont. Of course, skiing for 23 years in the East and racing for 12 years for the Killington Mountain School, he knows a thing or two about skiing and racing in bitter cold, icy conditions. Drew is USSA certified and coaches the South Series/J3 team. He has a preference for flannel and retro '70s clothing, and loves large Cadillac convertibles and RV living.
Jason Stone, YSL/J5 Team Coach -

Jason has been skiing all of his life (since the age of 3), has been a ski coach/teacher for most of his life (17 years), and still loves to teach kids the joys of skiing and ski racing. He has PSIA level I, ACE level II, and USSA level 100 certifications. Off season, he enjoys camping, wake boarding, and cheering for his alma mater, the University of Utah, with his beautiful wife, Becky, and his two wonderful kids, Megan and Connor. We all suspect, however, that he's a closet BYU fan.
Eric Ren, YSL/J6 Team Coach -

Eric is unusual among ski racing coaches in that he comes from a ski patrol and freestyle background. He can be seen on our race courses in baggy pants on his twin tips and is an advocate for adding rails and kickers on GS courses. He is, however, wonderful at sharing his love and knowledge of skiing with our younger YSL racers, and the kids love to occasionally sneak off to the terrain park with Coach Eric to ruin their race skis grinding rails, much to the lament of their parents.
Lyndsey Calvin, YSL/J4-J5 Team Coach -

Lyndsey is the newest member of our coaching staff, hailing from Western Washington. She has been skiing most of her life (18 years) and raced for six years at the JO level for the Steven Pass Ski Team outside of Seattle. She has been a ski instructor for the last four years and is presently a student at the University of Utah. You will never find Lyndsey on women's skis; skis with flowery, "girly" graphics are her pet peeve, which will make her the perfect role model for our young girls. Seriously, since when did flowers make you faster?
